Music star; Avril Lavigne breaks down in tears as she gives update on her Lyme disease diagnosis for first on-camera interview
It's almost two years since Avril Lavigne was diagnosed with Lyme disease in December 2013. And on Monday, the 30-year-old Canadian songbird shared a health update with Good Morning America as she talked about her debilitating illness for the first time on-camera.This is my second shot at life,' she said with tears streaming down her face as she spoke with ABC's Jesse Palmer about her road to recovery.I'm about halfway through my treatment. I'm doing a lot better,' Avril revealed. Seeing a lot of progress... I'm just really grateful to know that I will make [a] 100 percent recovery.The Complicated hitmaker recognized she had Lyme disease in December 2012 and then publicly revealed the news of her ailment with People magazine in April. Lyme disease is the debilitating bacterial infection that comes from a tick bite. Avril believes she was bit in spring 2014, when she became bedridden for five months in her native Ontario home.'I literally became bedridden last October,' she explained about the frustrations of getting misdiagnosed by multiple health professionals...
